# Connecting to Something Greater: Telecom for Change Golf Event

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Thanks to the generosity of our incredible Partner community, [Telecom for Change](http://www.telecomforchange.com/) raised money for three fantastic causes at its 3rd Annual Golf Event.

We here at Intelisys are honored to be a part of Telecom for Change, a professional organization of telecom agents and carriers who come together to provide aid to charitable organizations. It’s truly humbling to see how our partner community is dedicated to making a difference and helping communities.

The 2017 Telecom for Change Golf Event raised $25,000 for the [Notre Dame of Maryland University School of Nursing](http://www.ndm.edu/colleges-and-schools/school-nursing). Combined with the donation from a prior event, they were able to establish an endowment for the NDMU’s [Trailblazer Scholars Program.](https://www.ndm.edu/womens-college/academics/honors-special-programs/trailblazer-scholars) The Trailblazers program provides support and resources for first-generation students in the Nursing program.

The generosity of our partner community made it possible to give an additional $5,000 to the beneficiary of the 2016 Telecom for Change Golf Event, [The Ashley Lauren Foundation](http://ashleylaurenfoundation.org/), which was founded to provide assistance to families and children diagnosed with pediatric cancer.

The putting contest also raised $760 for the Darren Suders Family Trust, established to help Darren’s wife and children after his unexpected passing. With Telecom for Change’s matching donation, the family will receive $1520.
