That’s because modern manufacturing involves technologies that inherently collect supply chain data, production processes, and information on customer relationships. The challenge is aggregating this data and turning it into actionable insights.

Why is downtime so costly? It’s not just the lost production. When the plant goes offline, waste accrues rapidly through issues like:

- Missed deliveries

- Idle on-the-clock workers

- Contractual penalties for missed obligations

- Reputational damage

Reputational damage is especially devastating because it persists long after the outage itself has been resolved.
